MySpace

I would like to take a moment and blog a bit about MySpace. Although without it Jeremey and I may have never been reunited (and I am so greatful). But I do believe that this web site is designed for the younger society members. From the designing of "your page" to the applications that can be added all geared to juveniles. Granted this is a good way to stay or get in touch I do think that there are more age appropriate way to do so.

There are some thing that I, and others, do not like about MySpace. This site and the maintenance of it can become very time consuming. I personally spent many hours perfecting "my page". It was shown that society spends a great deal of time at either the T.V. or computer and for every hour spent disconnected from family it is overwhelmingly detrimental for positive social growth.

So come on adults, let's get away from that computer and put our past behind us. Let's socialize in the here and now! It's all about cognitive involvement!

Happy Thanksgiving !

I didn't get many pictures because I was playing good hostess and making the food. I wish I had a taken one of Jeremey, he looked so good all dressed up. All in all it turned out great and I didn't not destroy the turkey! I think I could do this again.

The most gracious host. Not to mention gorgeous.

There was food everywhere!

Not begging too much.

Andrea and Ashley making a ginger bread house. Wow! What a disaster!

Happy Birthday Destiny!

My good friend, Hollie, threw a birthday party for her daughter and I was so lucky to adopt a kid for the day (Hailie), because Lauren is on her honeymoon.
The party went great with arts and crafts as well as hool-a-hoop lessons. There was also a sunset boat ride in the freezing cold and all the normal birthday stuff.

Carlee, Destiny, Hailie

Happy birthday to you Destiny!!!
Six Years Old!

K9 Unit

I heard the news the other day that Jeremey has been asked to join the K9 unit. He will be on call if an inmate decides to attempt escaping. I don't know when the training will begin but I am anxious to see how that works. Not to mention what kind of dog he will be assigned to (bloodhound, I hope).
This is such a wonderful opportunity for him and I just want to share how proud and excited I am for him. Jeremey, I am so proud of all your achievements in this career and I know that you will not only succeed but excel with anything you put your mind to.

Preparing for Turkey day

Since we now have the most appropriate home for parties Thanksgiving will be held here. So inlight of the upcoming holiday, and the fact that I am still a child this is what I stayed up all night doing. They are just a prototype

Yes, pine cone turkey's. My favorite one is at the far left. (click on picture to get a better look)

Last night, around 10pm, I got the sudden urge for crafts. So I went online and found all the materials I would need then jumped into my car and drove to Walmart. I am happy (I think) to announce that I have my own, slowly growing, arts and crafts box. Look out Christmas!

Psyc Club

My first club (excluding girl scouts). I had been doing some research on the Psychology Club that UCF has to offer. And after many, many e-mails I decided to join. By doing so it is going to help my chances of getting into Grad school, not to mention, helping the community. This is just going to benefit me so many ways.
So tonight was my first go at it. Let me say that you are reading the blog of the first member of Cocoa's UCF Psyc club as well as the only. Apparently, today was the first day and no one could make it to this meeting. So we will see what this will bring to my ever exciting UCF life.

Our good Baby.

Bailey lost her cage due to difference of opinion so the blankets that were formally in her cage were laying on the floor. Ratty blankets on the floor were a major eye sore. So the other day I decided to try a dog bed. I am so glad that our dog is so easily manipulated. She loves her new bed.
The next trick will be to get her out of our bed at night into her own...all night.

The sitting job revisited

My phone rang this morning asking if I could sit tonight. Now, I thought they forgot about me because they have not asked me to work for months. I excitedly agreed. What I was going to walk into I was not ready for. Picture this....
A man in his early 30's with two children, family and a job as an computer engineer. Sounds like a promising life? I would think so but a short time ago this man decided to take his life by jumping out of a car traveling at 70 mph. He survived with some road rash and some broken face bones.
Now last month attempted again, this time overdosed on medication and washing it down with vodka. Failure again. This man that had a family and a job is now reduced to a hospital bed. He will never walk again, talk, eat, read, any of life's simple tasks. He wears a diaper and has a feeding tube protruding from his stomach.
As I sat there and watched him struggle to turn himself to the foot of the bed I could not help but to think of what he may have been before. Picture's filled the walls of drawings from young family member saying "please get better and come home and play with us". And it saddened me because he will never play again. The overdose may have not killed him but it killed all of he cognitive abilities. He can not communicate anything.
This maybe a trivial job but it is a hard one. I would encourage anyone who knows a person going through a hard time please, please help them. Even if all you can do is listen, that maybe the one thing that keeps them alive.

A Sad Sight

Today driving home from work, on the side of 520 near 95, there was a dilapidated van with its windows punched out and shit piled up to the ceiling. Laying on the dash in the front window there was a large cut out of a card board box. Written on the box it said "Homeless Family. Please help".

And what I found sad was not the idea that there were children living there or the simple fact that there are people going with out. But what really saddened me was the first thing that came to mind. "If I would actually believe that my help would be used properly, I would want the police to escort me to their home to give them whatever it was I thought useful for thier situation".

It may sound weird but I have never seen anything like that before.

Give it a try

Just click on the picture and follow directions.

4. I can still enjoy the small pleasures in life
5. Even though I argue, I love my family more than life
6. I am super organized...almost anal
7. I have managed to keep a friend for 20 years and we are just as close as ever
8. I take a vitamin every day and I actually care about what I put in my body (for the most part)
9. The people I surround myself with also rock
10. My first name is spelled weird and no one can say my last name right.

Cole Brothers Circus

The desperate attempt to get a picture of us at the circus.

The tent was pitched in the parking lot of the Miracle mall in Titusville

My Favorite part was the elephants and the dog show!

"Watch out! They spit."

The grand ending was a rocket man shot about 15 feet into a net.
I must say this was my first circus and there was nothing that could have prepared me for the smell. Not to mention circus people are like 100 times more scary than carnies. But all in all it was great! Note to self...pay the extra money not to have general admission.

What an eventful day!

Jeremey and I finally got our pictures done! We have never had any and we are about to celebrate our 2nd anniversary.

This one I call "The pancake"

"The Beach"

"Black and White" because we printed it out in black and white.
Likes?

Hailie walking her mother down the isle and giving her away.

The new furniture

.
.

.

The new dining room table has a leaf that fold out so that it seats 6. The table is actually bigger than it looks in the picture.
The new couches come complete with a husband on one of them, and will not get off so that I could take a picture.
